Two new preset types in the Tags tab: Public notes and Private notes.
Build them from tokens like any other preset, apply them from the card or Quick Apply, or pick them from
the dropdowns next to the notes fields on a horse's edit tab. Notes longer than the game's 1000 character
limit are cut to fit, and the apply status says so.
Quick Apply fills every starred preset at once (name, public tag and notes) with a single update.
The Estate Database now saves each horse's public notes, and your own horses' private notes, and shows
them on the horse's record. Both are included in CSV exports.
Presets are now stored together, separately from your settings, and are included in settings backups.
New FeatureDrive Sync
A new Drive sync page, linked from the Estate Data tab, keeps your saved horses the same
in every browser you use. Turn it on, sign in with Google, and the herd is stored as one file,
HRToolkit/herd.json.gz, in your own Google Drive. HRToolkit can only see the files it
creates there, and nothing is sent anywhere else.
Changes upload within a minute of your last save and other browsers pick them up when you open the
toolkit. Saving horses works exactly as before and never waits for Drive.
If two browsers change the same horse's tags, hidden colours, analytics exclusion or edited scores before
syncing, the horse is listed on the Drive sync page so you can keep either copy. Nothing is overwritten
until you choose.
Connecting a browser that already has horses asks whether to merge them with the Drive herd or use the
Drive copy, and saves a backup of that browser's horses first.
Disconnect signs this browser out of Drive sync and keeps all your local horses.
New FeatureStud Book
Your stallions can be listed on the public HRTools stud book at
hrtools.stablesociety.io/studs, where other players filter by breed, colour and conformation scores. On a
stallion's record in the Estate Database, tick Listed under HRTools stud book and set a
price in HRC, DP, FT or WT; the listing publishes within a minute.
Only what the stud book shows is sent: name, breed, age, your stable name, scores, conformation grades,
tested colours and prices. Hidden colours, tags and notes never leave your browser.
A listing comes down when the horse is retired, gelded or no longer yours, and lapses two weeks after
the last refresh. The new Stud book page shows your estate as the site presents it, with a note and a Discord
handle you can set, what is listed and when it last published; publishing uses the same Google sign-in as
Drive sync but does not need sync turned on.
October 2026
v2.8.1
October 17, 2026
Foal Calendar Removed
The Foal Calendar has been removed at the request of Horse Reality. HRToolkit has always only used data
that is publicly available on horse profiles, which is allowed as per rule 7, but HR staff have insisted
that the calendar puts their revenue at risk.
New FeatureWeaning Times
A new Weaning times card in the Analytics Foals tab shows when each of your foals weans,
so you can plan your estate capacity.
New FeatureCopy to Clipboard in Estate Database
Each card on a horse's profile in the Estate Database now has a copy button that copies the card's values
to your clipboard, ready to paste into Discord or your notes.
A new Copy summary button next to Export CSV copies a short summary of the horse. You can
choose what goes in it under Copy Summary in the Estate Data settings tab.
New FeatureSire & Dam Filters
The Estate Database filters now include Sire and Dam. Type a name or ID
to find a parent, or scroll the list, which puts the parents with the most foals first. Pick as many
as you like.
Pick Foundation to find horses with no recorded sire or dam (shown as "Unknown" in their
pedigree). Horses whose pedigree hasn't been saved yet won't match.
Bug Fixes
Fixed custom horse backgrounds not showing in Photo mode on horse profiles.
v2.8.0
October 9, 2026
New FeatureBreeding Planner
A full-page Breeding Planner designed to help you easily pick the best pairings from your database.
Pick a mare or stallion and get a ranked list of partners. You can rank pairs by
Genetic Potential (total or individual stat), Conformation (score or trait), discipline, or Breed Total.
You can filter the partner list by owner, colour, relatives, and show only partners that improve on the
selected trait.
The pair sheet shows both horses side by side so you can easily compare their stats.
The colours tab shows the possible foal genotypes and odds for each locus when colour tests are completed
and captured.
New FeatureFoal Calendar
A new Foal Calendar view lists every expecting mare in your database, with both a list and calendar view
available.
Estimated foaling times are listed in your local time with HR server time below them.
The foal's sex is recorded once ultrasounds are done and you revist the pregnant mare.
Mares whose due date has passed are listed under To confirm until you visit their
profiles.
There is a by sire card so you can see all the foals expected from a particular sire across all pregnant
mares in your database.
Stallion profiles in the Estate Database now have an expected foals section, listing all mares in foal to
him recorded in your database.
New FeaturePedigrees & Herd Relatedness - Profiles/Filters/Analytics
Saving a horse now records its three generation pedigree.
A Bloodlines section has been added to horse profiles. It contains:
Herd relatives - How closely the horse is related to the rest of the horses in your
herd.
Foals in herd - What horses in your database are foals of the given horse.
Pedigree - The horse's 3 generation pedigree with links to the horses on HR or your
database if they are present.
A new Bloodlines tab in Analytics covers:
Herd relatives - How closely the horse is related to the rest of the horses in your herd.
Diversity mix - Each horse against the whole herd, split into Close, Cousin, Distant and Outcross.
Breeding pair mix - The same as above but counting against the opposite sex: stallions against your
mares, mares against your stallions.
Most common ancestors - The ancestors most commonly found in the pedigrees of horses saved to your
estate database.
Which horses are missing a pedigree.
COI - Analytics cards breaking down COI as recorded from HR across your whole herd.
Added a COI range filter to the filter panel.
CSV export has a new Sire and dam option.
New FeatureRanging Gap
The ranging gap is a horse's max range (its all-time low plus the breed's range) minus its highest score.
A gap of 0.000 means the horse is fully ranged.
Horse profiles in the estate database now show the horse's ranging gap.
A Ranging gap card has been added to the Conformation tab in the Analytics view with a min/max gap
filter so you can easily filter your herd by gap.
Ranging gap has been added as a filter to the database so you can easily select horses within a certain
range.
Show results pages highlights your horses (in lilac) when their gap is within your choosen limit.
Turn it on in the popup under Horse MGMT → Shows & Competitions → Results
Page.
Estate Database & Analytics Refresh
Horse profiles have has a minor redesigned. They now include the horse's portrait (for v2 breeds) and
links to jump to
each section.
Analytics charts have been reworked to read better on mobile.
New FeatureColours Support for V1 Breeds
Colours support for V1 breeds has been added. Visiting a horses profile with any completed colour tests
will now save the horse's genetics tab. Note that this will break in the future when horse profiles are
refreshed, we ask for the community's understanding that we may not be able to resupport this.
These changes support negative tests for V2 breeds. On V2 breed double negative results (any test
resulting in 'nn') are not provided in the HR api. These results are now scrapped from the table.
To have your horses genetics updated revist their profile on HR.
New FeatureAuto Age Updates
Ages are now estimated between visits from the horse's birth time, so ages stay current in the
database. Note this is an estimate, and so may be off by 1 month here or there.
The age on HR takes priority; if the age on HR is different to the age on your database, the age on
your database is updated to match HR and from there it reanchors to this age.
This allows for horses listed as foals in your database to 'age' to stallions and mares and show in your
Breeding Planner without the need to revisit their profiles on HR.
Performance Improvements
Performance improvements have been made to the extension, if you notice any bugs please report them.
September 2026
v2.7.1
September 14, 2026
New FeatureFirefox Support - Pending / Public Beta
Changes have been made to prepare HRToolkit for use in Firefox. Both browsers share the same settings UI
and
backup
format, so a settings backup exported from Chrome can be imported into Firefox and vice versa.
In Firefox, the toolbar icon opens HRToolkit directly in the sidebar. Chrome keeps its popup and optional
side panel.
Address-bar Quick Search is not in Firefox as it uses Chrome based apis.
New FeatureAll-Time Competition Results
Competition results now have all-time high and low records, matching what conformation scores already
had. Added {at_chs} and {at_cls} tokens, with _r0 to
_r3 rounding variants. Until a horse has been saved to the Estate Database, these show the
current visit's values.
The competition results summary on the horse page now shows an All-time row alongside the Current row
once a record exists.
Existing saved competition scores seed the all-time records, and the database editor labels now
distinguish Confo and Comp results.
New FeatureAll-Time Low Score Guard
By default, a new conformation all-time low must be at least the all-time high minus the breed's range.
Lower scores are ignored and the previous recorded low is kept, so shows entered without care cannot drag
the low outside that range.
Applies on horse profiles and show results pages. Turn it on or off under
Horse MGMT → Shows & Competitions → Score Recording. Previously recorded
lows can still be corrected in the database editor. This will only stop out of bounds scores from date of
release, ones previously logged in the database will need manual correction.
New FeatureBackground Library Rework - Favourites & BG Shuffle
Background library ui has been reworked to make room for new fetures!
Star backgrounds to save them to your favourites.
Select up to 5 images for horse backgrounds. Have multiple selected will shuffle the images on each page
load.
Click a gallery image to open a full-size preview. Filter by multiple categories, favourites, or your
horse selection.
A new bot has been added to discord that automatically uploaded background submissions so your backgrounds
will get updated more regular updates.
Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements
Fixed tags not being added on mobile devices, where the keyboard's Done key did not register as Enter.
The Estate Database no longer keeps a frozen copy of the older single-blob database layout after migrating
to per-horse records,
freeing storage space for large herds.
v2.6.0
September 4, 2026
New FeatureHorse Tags
You can now add up to 10 tags to any horse in the Estate Database. Tags can be 2 to 24 characters long and
will default to lowercase, with spaces joined by hyphens (for
example comp-team or
for-sale).
you can bulk add and remove tags by selecting 'Select' above the horse list panel, and then select the
horses you want to add or remove tags from all at once.
Search by tag with #tag in the Estate Database search box. Multiple #tag terms
narrow the results further, and a partial tag such as #comp matches comp-team.
You can also filter horses with tags by using the dropdown in the filter panel on both the Estate Database
and Herd Analytics pages filters by
any selected tags, with an (untagged) option to easily filter for horses without tags.
New FeatureConformation & GP Trait Filters
A new conformation grade filter has been added allowing you to now filter by grade for given traits.
Within
a trait selected grades
combine as OR, so selecting VG through G reads as G or better.
A new GP filter has been added allowing you to filter by genetic potential per sub-trait with Min
and Max bounds,
alongside the
existing total GP range.
Filter Panel Redesign
The filter panel has been redesigned to account for the every expanding number of filters.
The filter panel is now split into General, Colours, and Traits tabs.
Height in Hands
Added {ht_cm} and {ht_hh} tokens for height in centimetres and hands
(15.2 = 15 hands 2 inches).
The Estate Database horse overview now shows height in both centimetres and hands.
Bug Fixes
Fixed the Good+ conformation grade not displaying on the horse page for gait traits such as
Revaal, Tölt, and Flying pace.
August 2026
v2.5.0
August 21, 2026
Reworked Colour Filters
Colour filters in the Estate Database have been redesigned with two allele slot
dropdowns (Allele 1 and Allele 2) for each locus.
Select alleles in both slots to filter for exact genotype pairs, or select from a single slot to match
any horse carrying that single allele.
Suspected ? alleles (such as PATN2?, f?, A?) are
selectable in either slot to filter for suspected carriers.
Fixed Agouti At+ and wild type allele genotype matching and filter expressions.
New FeatureExclude Horses From Analytics
You can now exclude individual horses from your Herd Analytics by clicking the × button
next to their name in any chart row, or by unchecking the "Include in analytics" checkbox in the Estate
Database
horse overview.
An N excluded dropdown in the Analytics header lets you view all horses being excluded from
the current view.
An exclusion status has been added to the Estate Database status dropdown so you can easily find all
horses excluded.
New FeatureBirthdate & Height Tokens
Added {ht} token for horse height in centimetres.
Added {bd} token for horse birthdate (dd-mm-yyyy format).
Both tokens are available in tagline and name generators, preview data, and token legend documentation.
Birthdate and Height (cm) are also now displayed in the Estate Database horse overview and included in
CSV exports.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where enhanced tab contents were not always automatically re-injecting if the game's
frontend rewrote the tab after the initial page load. This should fix the problem of the conformation score
summary not loading.
v2.4.0
August 10, 2026
New FeatureBreeding Partners
You can now set other players as breeding partners in the Estate Data tab. You can define up to
20 partners in total, with 5 for auto-saving as you browse.
Breeding partner horses are tagged with a BP tag in your Estate Database. Removing a partner reverts their
horses to regular owned peer horses.
Ownership filters in the Estate Database and Analytics are updated allowing you to select any mix of
Owned,
Peer Owned, and Breeding Partner.
New FeatureHorse Statuses
Saved horses now record their retired, deceased, at-stud, and pregnant statuses. Statuses show on
Estate Database records and can be used to filter both the Database and Analytics.
Minor bug was fixed where deceased horses were auto-added to the Estate Database. If you'd like to add a
deceased horse to your database it now needs to be done via the manual save button.
New FeatureNew Colour Tokens & Suspected Hidden Colours
Colour tags can now be built gene by gene: every tested and hidden gene has its own tokens in every
variant
(full, positive, indexed, and positive indexed), so taglines can include only the genes you care about, in
your own order and spacing.
There are now group tokens covering whole colour families: {basic_colours},
{dilutions}, and {white_patterns}, each with every positive and indexing
variant.
Hidden colour genotypes can now be recorded for peer-owned horses.
Hidden genes can be marked as suspected: select ? for an allele ifit is unconfirmed. A
suspected copy counts as a possible positive — ?/sty renders STY?¹ when
positive indexed, STY/STY? renders STY?²
Peacock can now be recorded alongside hidden colours as an expressed flag plus your own line strength
estimate, with its own {hidden_peacock} token family and filter in the
Database and Analytics.
Combined colour tokens ({tested_colours_pos}, {hidden_colours}, the new group
tokens, …) now join genotypes without spaces to save tagline characters. Only plain
{tested_colours} keeps its spaces.
You can now do complex gene filtering in the Estate Database and Analytics. Per gene, convering;
homozygous, heterozygous, no positive alleles.
You can also filter for suspected alleles for hidden colours. If filtering on multiple states on the one
gene they will combine as "any of these", while if you filter of different genes they must all match.
All-Time Value Improvements
On horse profile's the conformation show results table now has a more detailed summary, making it easier
for you to compare the visible shows against the all-time high, low, and breed total values recorded in your
Estate Database.
On the conformation show results page, when you have enabled "Show all-time high values" there is now the
all-time low, high, gap and max range displayed to help you with ranging.
Estate Database Improvements
Horses can now be deleted in bulk using the Select CTA above the horse list.
The advanced filter panel was reworked with a cleaner layout
The Estate Database is now much more usable on mobile.
The popup's Estate Data tab is reorganised into Saved Horses, Breeding Partners, and Settings
sections.
Performance Improvements
Additional performance work has been conducted to make horse profile and stable pages load significantly
quicker. If you
experience slow loading that is directly related to the extension, please raise a bug on discord.
As a consequence of this update, there is now a minimum version requirement for your browser. Please
ensure your browser is up to date to avoid any issues.
Bug Fixes
Opening many horse tabs at once no longer silently drops some updates, requests that fail under
server load are retried automatically.
Stale all-time score records now recalculate their derived range and breed total values from the
surviving high/low instead of carrying values from a superseded score.
v2.3.2
August 2, 2026
Performance Improvements
The popup now paints immediately when opened instead of showing a blank window while it prepares —
tab content loads right after the first frame.
Popup fonts are now packaged with the extension instead of fetched from the web, removing a network
round trip that could delay the popup by a second on a cold cache.
Estate Database reads no longer load the retained pre-2.3.1 database copy, cutting over a megabyte of
wasted reading per popup open for migrated databases.
v2.3.1
August 1, 2026
Performance Improvements
The popup should open noticeably faster as tabs are now prepared as you visit them instead of all at
once when the popup opens.
Estate Database storage was reworked under the hood: horses are now stored individually, so saving,
editing, and deleting are much lighter. Existing databases migrate automatically on first use.
Custom horse and page backgrounds use a smarter image cache so they should appear sooner.
Horse pages load their stat data sooner, and stat summaries and tag generation compute faster
everywhere.
Horse profile tabs load with one less network request, and overlapping tab preloads no longer run twice.
Bug Fixes
The View in DB pill now follows the site's responsive layout, fixing its placement and
spacing on mobile.
July 2026
v2.3.0
July 24, 2026
New FeatureAdvanced Filters for Database & Analytics
Added an advanced filter panel to the Estate Database and Estate Analytics pages.
You can filter by ownership, sex, age, GP, breed total, and score ranges, plus colour genes, covering both
tested genotypes and manually recorded hidden colours.
New FeatureFreezer Filtering & Sorting
Added a breed filter and sort dropdown to the freezer page.
Sort stored vials by name or vial count.
New FeatureSettings Import & Export
Added settings backup under the Help tab — export your extension settings to a file for safe
keeping, or import them to set up another machine.
The Estate Database is not included in settings backups.
New FeatureView in DB Link
Horse profiles for saved horses now show a pill linking straight to that horse's Estate Database
record.
You can toggle this with the Show “View in DB” link on saved horse profiles
option in the Horse MGMT tab.
Analytics Improvements
Summary tables for conformation, GP, and health can now be sorted by clicking column headers.
The selected breed, section, and filters are remembered in the page URL, so analytics views can be
bookmarked and shared.
Charts and rankings now use all-time scores and breed totals where available.
Bugs and Polishing
Retired horses are no longer auto-saved back into the Estate Database.
Fixed foal calendar times not displaying for foals due today or tomorrow.
General styling touch-ups across the Estate Database and Estate Analytics pages.

Refined the editor layout and filtering controls, with save and discard actions that remain available
while scrolling through a horse's record.
New FeatureColour Variables
Added positive-only, indexed, and positive-indexed tested colour tokens:
{tested_colours_pos}, {tested_colours_in}, and
{tested_colours_pos_in}.
Added manually entered hidden colour tokens: {hidden_colours} and
{hidden_colours_in}. Hidden genotypes are entered via the database view.
Added a dedicated Colours section to the legend with token examples and explanations.
New FeatureAge-less Sex Variables
Added {sex_au} and {sex_al} for adult sex codes that resolve colts and fillies
to their adult sex.
New FeatureFoal Calendar Times
Added a setting that toggles the display of estimated foaling times on foal calendar entries in server
time and your
local time.
Bugs and Polishing
Refreshed the background gallery, Estate Database, legend, commands and updates layouts with shared page
styling, improved spacing, and more consistent controls.
Expanded the common ancestors when breeding feature to apply on the inseminate pages.
v2.1.0
July 5, 2026
New FeatureAll-Time Score & Breed Total Variables
Added all-time high/low variables that track a horse's high and lowest conformation scores across every
visit — the all-time high can only go up and the all-time low can only go down.
New tokens are {at_hs} (all-time high), {at_ls} (all-time low),
{at_rng} (all-time range, overall only), {at_bt} (all-time breed total),
{at_obt} (all-time overall breed total, discipline only), and {at_bt_rng}
(all-time BT range).
Each supports up to 3 decimal places with the usual _r1, _r2, and
_r3 suffixes.
All-time values count from when the horse is saved to the estate database in this update onwards.
Scores achieved
before a horse was added to the database, or scores observed before this update are not included.
New FeatureShow Result Score Capture
Scores are now scraped and stored from the conformation show result pages for horses you own AND are
saved in your estate database.
Added an option to highlight show result rows where one of your horses set a new all-time high or low
score.
You can toggle these highlights in the Horse Management tab under Shows & Competition settings.
Maximum number of horses that can be saved in the database has been increased from 500 → 1000.
v2.0.0
July 3, 2026
New FeatureCommunity Background Library
Added a bundled background library under Visuals → BG Library with community-created
backgrounds that can be applied to page backgrounds or horse image backgrounds.
Added a ground shadow option for custom horse backgrounds so horses sit more naturally on applied images.
Popup Redesign & Navigation
Reworked the popup with the new muted estate theme, updated typography, refined dark mode, and a more
consistent set of buttons, badges, accordions, fields, and cards.
Renamed and reorganized top-level tabs: Tags, Visuals, Horse MGMT,
Navigation, Estate Data, and Help.
Added subtabs inside Visuals so profile image controls, background settings, the background
library, and stable-page display settings are easier to find.
Applied a wide pass of popup CSS cleanup, including improved dark mode contrast, tighter spacing, and more
consistent control states.
Refreshed the Help tab with clearer support links, reference links, credits, and donation information.
New FeatureEstimated Discipline Score Variables
Added the estimated low/high discipline scores (the grey range shown under each discipline in the GP
table)
as new variables for use in tags, clipboard copying, and exporting.
Tokens follow the pattern {xx_est_ls} (low) and {xx_est_hs} (high), where
xx is the discipline code — e.g. {dr_est_ls} for Dressage low and
{sj_est_hs} for Show Jumping high.
Each supports up to 3 decimal places with the usual _r1, _r2, and
_r3 suffixes.
Available under the Estimated Discipline Scores section when building presets.
New FeatureHealth & Fertility Variables
Added health and fertility stats as new variables for use in tags, clipboard copying, and exporting.
Available variables are {fer} (Fertility), {col} (Colic Resistance),
{hof} (Hoof Quality), {bpr} (Back Problems), {rsp} (Respiratory
Disease), and {lam} (Resistance to Lameness).
Each value is condensed to its first letter (e.g. Excellent → E, Good → G), and untested stats
fall back to n/a.
Health, fertility, and Tested Colours are now grouped under Veterinary Stats
when
building presets.
New FeaturePrivate Tags on Stable Pages
Stored private tags now display on the stable view, alongside the existing horse profile locations.

v1.1.0
May 10, 2026
Tags / Variables
Fixed a bug where some variable rounding variants could revert to a different rounding preset, such as
r1 returning r2.
Backgrounds
Horse Reality background library has been removed at the request of Horse Reality staff due to concerns
that
easily accessible HR backgrounds may discourage in-game background purchases.
You can still use a custom background by supplying your own image URL.
New FeatureCommon Ancestor Tags
Added a feature to the breeding page that marks shared ancestors on both the stud and mare.
Enable the toggle in the horse profile tab to use this feature.
April 2026
v1.0.1
April 14, 2026

_r1 = 1 decimal
_r2 = 2 decimals
_r3 = 3 decimals
New FeatureUnprepared Show Entry Warnings
Added a new setting in the General tab that warns you when attempting to
enter conformation shows and the selected horse/s need caretaking or has no halter equipped.
Covers both game-hosted and club-hosted conformation show entry URLs.
Competition warnings are planned next (sorry, I don't hav any comp eligible horses on hand and my stalls
are over cap!).
General Bug Fixes
Fixed a parser bug where the second numeric segment in a URL like
https://www.horsereality.com/horses/26733576/99012 was being treated as the horse lifenumber.
Free tools are built while drinking a lot of coffee.
